I've been trying to get some good fireworks pictures for three years now. The first attempt was terrible and they were way out of focus. The second year I took some on my cell phone that were OK. This year I feel like I nailed it. I re-read the links I had bookmarked about photographing fireworks and came across a video from a photographer that I follow. I was able to plan ahead, stake out a spot, dialed in my settings and focus before dark, set up my remote shutter release and I walked away with some awesome images. Luckily a breeze kicked up right before the show to move the smoke along. Lingering smoke will ruin your fireworks pictures every time. Some of the better images were taken right after a lull in the display allowing the sky to clear and get some clean pictures. You be the judge, how do you think they turned out?
